Advanced Handling Systems for Smarter Manufacturing
Move parts, products, and production with greater speed, precision, and control. GLOBAL Automation Technologies engineers advanced handling systems that combine FANUC robotics, vision guidance, tooling, controls, and safety integration around your real production needs. From flexible pick-and-place to palletizing, machine tending, and conveyor synchronization, we help manufacturers increase throughput, protect quality, and reduce repetitive manual work.
Our Advanced Handling Systems Services
Flexible robotic systems engineered to move, orient, load, inspect, and transfer parts throughout demanding manufacturing operations.
Robotic Material Handling
Custom FANUC handling cells for pick-and-place, palletizing, depalletizing, racking, de-racking, inter-station transfer, and conveyor integration. Each system is matched to part geometry, cycle time, floor space, tooling, controls, and safety requirements.
Robotic systems load parts, manage machine doors, start cycles, and unload finished work for CNC equipment, presses, molding machines, and secondary operations. Vision, fixtures, and grippers support dependable unattended operation across one or multiple machines.
Machine vision enables robots to locate, identify, orient, and inspect variable parts as they are presented. It supports random bin picking, moving-part tracking, presence verification, and flexible handling while reducing fixturing, scrap, and rework.
GLOBAL Automation Technologies engineers each advanced handling system around the parts and line it serves rather than a standard template. Every project starts with a part and process study—geometry, weight, presentation, and rate—which drives end-of-arm tooling selection and, where relevant, the choice between an articulated robot, gantry, or autonomous mover. Parts arrive on infeed conveyor that is metered and accumulated so the robot has a stable pick, then tooling transfers each part to the machine, fixture, or downstream station. The team integrates conveyor interfaces, PLC controls, and machine vision into one coordinated line, encloses the cell in appropriate safety guarding, and validates reach, cycle, and handling through simulation and on-site run-off before production launch.

Meet the GLOBAL Team
Engineering expertise for demanding automated manufacturing environments.
GLOBAL Automation Technologies was founded in 2008 to solve manufacturing problems through automation. From the start, the company saw that manufacturers need more than a robotic system—they also need experienced people to launch, operate, and improve it, so GLOBAL brought robotic systems integration and technical staffing together under one roof. Over 18+ years its team has grown to 110+ professionals working in simulation labs, on plant floors, and at customer sites across North America and beyond. With offices in four countries, projects completed in 22 countries, and 630+ robots sold worldwide, GLOBAL brings broad experience to each application.

Frequently Asked Questions
What payload, reach, and throughput can an advanced handling system deliver?
GLOBAL sizes each handling cell to the payload, reach, and rate the application requires rather than a headline figure. The team reviews part weight, geometry, the distances the robot must cover, and how fast parts move through the line, then selects a robot that meets those targets with margin. Simulation confirms reach and cycle performance for your parts before the cell is built, so expectations are grounded in your actual production.
How much part variety and changeover flexibility can one cell handle?
A cell can be built for one part or a family of parts, depending on how much your production varies. GLOBAL reviews the range of sizes, weights, surfaces, and orientations the system must manage and designs tooling, fixtures, and controls to suit. Where parts change frequently, recipe-driven controls and vision-adaptive or interchangeable tooling let the cell move between variants without extensive re-engineering.
How is end-of-arm tooling designed, and who supplies the grippers?
End-of-arm tooling is engineered around how your parts must be held—vacuum, mechanical clamp, magnetic, or custom fingers depending on weight, surface, and rigidity. GLOBAL designs or specifies this tooling as part of the cell and integrates grippers from established component suppliers rather than leaving sourcing to the customer. The tooling is matched to your parts so each is picked and placed securely without damage.
Can the system integrate with our existing conveyors, infeed, and AMRs?
Yes. Most handling cells are designed to connect with the equipment already on your floor. GLOBAL reviews existing conveyors, infeed and metering points, machine signals, and handoff locations—along with any AMRs or downstream stations—before defining the integration. Product then flows into and out of the cell through coordinated handoffs instead of an isolated station that creates new bottlenecks.
How is the cell guarded and made safe for operators?
Each cell is enclosed and interlocked so people and the robot stay separated during operation. Depending on layout, GLOBAL applies fixed guarding, light curtains, safety scanners, interlocked access points, and safety-rated controls, with parts entering and leaving through guarded zones. The safeguarding approach follows recognized industrial robot safety practices and is reviewed against how operators and maintenance interact with the cell.
How much floor space does a handling cell need, and how is it installed?
Footprint and layout are engineered around your available floor space, traffic patterns, and where the cell ties into upstream and downstream operations. GLOBAL develops the layout, access clearances, and utility requirements during design, using simulation to confirm reach and flow before build. Installation and commissioning are then scheduled around your production to limit disruption.
What support, training, and spare parts come after commissioning?
After commissioning, GLOBAL provides operator and maintenance training, technical documentation, and ongoing support so your team can run and maintain the system. Recommended spare parts can be identified for the tooling, robot, and controls to help limit downtime, and support covers troubleshooting, adjustments, and future additions. When more coverage is needed, GLOBAL can supply technical staffing alongside the system, which is built for sustained production with service handled during scheduled maintenance windows.
