Our Press Automation Solutions Services

Custom robotic systems, engineering, and upgrades for safer, faster, more consistent press operations.

Robotic Press Tending

Automate repetitive press loading and unloading with robotic cells engineered for your press configuration, part geometry, cycle time, gripper requirements, and single- or multi-machine production needs.

Material Handling

Integrate robots for part transfer, racking, de-racking, pick-and-place, conveyor synchronization, and palletizing. Each system includes appropriate end-of-arm tooling, guarding, fixtures, controls, and PLC integration.

Machine Vision Guidance

Use vision-guided robotics to identify parts, verify orientation, track components, and support in-process quality checks. Flexible guidance reduces fixturing needs and helps automate variable press-side handling tasks.

Turnkey System Integration

Move from process study and simulation to system build, installation, commissioning, training, and long-term support through one integrated automation partner with extensive FANUC robot experience.

Press Line Retrofits

Modernize existing press operations with new robots, controls, equipment integration, or automated process improvements. GLOBAL helps increase capacity and support product changeovers while minimizing production downtime and capital exposure.

Automation Feasibility Studies

Evaluate press workflows, cycle times, equipment constraints, automation opportunities, and expected returns before committing to a full system. Practical recommendations clarify scope, timelines, and capital requirements.

Engineered Around Your Process

Build a More Productive Press Operation

Press automation is most effective when every component works around the realities of your production floor, and GLOBAL Automation Technologies engineers each cell through a clear sequence. It begins with a part and press study that reviews the press type and tonnage class, part geometry, cycle time, material flow, and safety constraints. From there the team selects the transfer mechanism that fits the work, whether a single robot loading and unloading one press, robots handing parts press-to-press, or a linear transfer moving parts through progressive stations. Feeding and destacking are designed next, with destackers, double-blank detection, magnetic fanners for steel blanks, and optional blank lubrication so parts arrive ready to form. Engineers then tie the robot into the press through signal interlocks so motion is coordinated: the robot stays clear until the press signals it is safe, and the press will not stroke until the robot is out of the die area. Guarding, light curtains, and area scanners complete the safeguarding, and the cell is validated in a run-off against your throughput goals before launch. The result is greater throughput, reduced manual handling, and a system ready to evolve with changing production demands.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types and sizes of presses can GLOBAL automate?

GLOBAL automates mechanical, hydraulic, and servo presses used for stamping, blanking, bending, drawing, punching, and forming, across a broad range of press sizes and tonnages. Rather than quoting a fixed capacity, the team looks at the press stroke, bed size, controls, and how parts move through the operation to confirm the right automation approach. Sharing the press types, tonnage class, and part sizes you run lets GLOBAL scope the cell to the work it has to do.

How are parts transferred into, out of, and between presses?

How are blanks presented, destacked, and lubricated?

How do you handle die changes and part changeover?

How is a press cell guarded and interlocked with the press?

What throughput can we expect from an automated press cell?

What support does GLOBAL provide after a press cell is commissioned?
