Our Mechanical Assembly Services
Integrated robotic technologies engineered to improve assembly quality, throughput, traceability, and flexibility across complex manufacturing operations.
Robotic Assembly Automation
Custom final assembly cells integrate pick-and-place, component insertion, bolt tightening, nut running, precision fastening, dispensing, fixturing, testing, and inspection. Production data captures torque values, serial numbers, test results, and process parameters for complete traceability.
Robotic handling systems provide part transfer, pick-and-place, racking, de-racking, bin picking, and conveyor synchronization between assembly operations. Each system is engineered around part geometry, cycle time, floor space, tooling, controls, and safety requirements.
GLOBAL manages mechanical assembly automation from process study and simulation through design, build, installation, commissioning, training, documentation, and ongoing support. A unified project team coordinates robotics, controls, vision, connectivity, and production launch.
Modernize existing assembly operations for product launches, model-year changeovers, capacity growth, or manual-process automation. GLOBAL retrofits robots, integrates new equipment, and optimizes production cells while working to minimize downtime and capital disruption.
Mechanical assembly automation gives manufacturers a dependable way to scale complex joining work without giving up process control, and GLOBAL engineers each cell around the details that decide performance. Design starts with how components are fed and presented, from trays, magazines, and feeders to conveyors, fixtures, or vision-guided bin picking, and with nests and fixtures that hold each part in a known position. GLOBAL then selects the right automation for the task, weighing a flexible robot against fixed or servo-driven stations based on part geometry, cycle time, and product mix, and matches the joining method, whether screwdriving with torque and angle verification, press-fit, insertion, clip installation, or dispensing, to the fastener and the joint. Poka-yoke checks and part-present, torque, and vision verification catch a missed or out-of-spec step before the part advances, and torque values, test results, and serial numbers can be captured for traceability. The cell is interlocked with upstream and downstream equipment and line controls so material flows cleanly, and before production GLOBAL validates it through simulation and a run-off on your parts, so it launches against proven cycle times, quality checks, and throughput.

Frequently Asked Questions
What mechanical joining and fastening processes can GLOBAL automate?
GLOBAL builds cells around the mechanical joining a product needs, including robotic screwdriving and nut running with torque and angle verification, press-fit and insertion, clip and component installation, pick-and-place, and adhesive or sealant dispensing. Tools are selected for the fastener type, torque range, and access, and critical fastening events can record torque, angle, and pass/fail results. Each critical joint is confirmed before the part advances.
Who supplies the part feeders, fixtures, and nests, and how are parts presented?
GLOBAL engineers and supplies the feeding, fixturing, and nest tooling as part of the cell so each component is held in a repeatable position. Parts can be presented in trays, magazines, or feeders, on conveyors, in fixtures, or picked from bins with vision, depending on geometry, weight, and volume. Presentation and nest design are recommended from your part samples and drawings.
Can the cell handle a mix of components and changeovers?
Yes. When the product family is known up front, GLOBAL designs for quick changeover using selectable part programs, quick-change or adjustable tooling and fixtures, and presentation sized for the part range. Vision guidance can absorb normal variation so one cell handles more part numbers with less dedicated fixturing. Part mix and changeover frequency are reviewed during design so the cell fits the range of work it will run.
How are cycle time and takt requirements addressed?
GLOBAL works from your takt-time target and models the cell to meet it, balancing robot motion, fastening or dispensing dwell, part presentation, and inspection so operations overlap. Where a single robot cannot hold the rate, work is split across stations or additional robots. Expected throughput is confirmed in simulation before build so the cell is sized to your production rate.
What error-proofing and traceability are included?
Cells are designed with poka-yoke checks such as part-present and orientation sensing, fastener counting, and torque, angle, and vision verification so a missed or out-of-spec operation is caught before the part moves downstream. The system can record torque values, test results, serial numbers, and process parameters to build a documented history for each unit. GLOBAL configures data collection around your quality and traceability requirements.
How is the cell validated before production?
Before shipment, GLOBAL runs the cell through factory acceptance and a run-off on your parts to confirm cycle time, quality checks, and fastening or dispensing results. Reach, tooling, and part flow are proven out, and the cell is validated against the agreed production and quality requirements during on-site commissioning. This staged run-off reduces surprises at launch.
What support, training, and spares follow installation?
After commissioning, GLOBAL trains operators and maintenance staff on running the cell, loading programs, clearing faults, and routine care, and can recommend spares covering tooling, grippers, sensors, and wear items. Ongoing support is available for troubleshooting and for adding parts or stations later. Because GLOBAL also provides automation staffing, skilled engineering resources can be arranged when internal support needs grow.
