Label Presence Inspection
Machine vision confirms that required labels are present before products move downstream, helping prevent incomplete shipments, missed identification steps, and costly manual checks.
GLOBAL designs label inspection and verification systems that help manufacturers confirm every label is present, positioned correctly, readable, and tied to the right product data. By combining machine vision, robotic guidance, and production-line controls, GLOBAL helps teams catch defects as parts run, strengthen traceability, reduce rework, and maintain consistent quality without slowing critical manufacturing operations.

Integrated vision, robotics, controls, and traceability solutions for accurate label verification across demanding production environments.
Machine vision confirms that required labels are present before products move downstream, helping prevent incomplete shipments, missed identification steps, and costly manual checks.
Vision-guided inspection verifies each label’s placement, alignment, and orientation against defined requirements, detecting skewed, misplaced, or incorrectly applied labels as parts run.
Integrated cameras read barcodes and data markings to validate product identity, improve traceability, and help ensure the correct information follows every part through production.
Robotic guidance locates variable part positions and orientations, enabling consistent label application and verification while reducing dedicated fixturing requirements for changing products.
Controls and data collection connect inspection results with serial numbers, test records, and process parameters for clear production documentation and quality accountability.
GLOBAL engineers complete inspection cells with cameras, robots, tooling, safety systems, PLC integration, programming, commissioning, and ongoing production support.
A label is only useful when it is present, readable, correctly placed, and connected to the right product record. GLOBAL starts with representative good and defect samples, then selects cameras and optics sized to resolve the smallest code or character and 2D imaging suited to flat label surfaces. Lighting is chosen for angle, color, and diffusion so print and barcodes read cleanly while glare from shiny labels and films is controlled, and part fixturing or staging holds the label in a repeatable position; where positions vary, vision guidance locates the label first. Read thresholds and barcode grading are tuned against those samples to balance false rejects against missed labels, and the verification result passes to the PLC so a divert or reject mechanism removes or routes mislabeled parts before downstream handling. Results can be logged with serial numbers for traceability, and the system is validated in a run-off against agreed criteria before it goes into production.

Automation specialists solving complex manufacturing challenges worldwide.
Founded in 2008, GLOBAL Automation Technologies was built to solve manufacturing problems through automation. The company saw that manufacturers need both a capable robotic system and experienced engineers to implement and sustain it, so it brought robotic systems integration and technical staffing together under one roof. Over 18+ years, its 110+ team members and offices in four countries have supported North American automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and industrial manufacturers, drawing on experience from projects in 22 countries.
GLOBAL configures each system around the label conditions you need to catch: whether a required label is present, correctly positioned and aligned, readable, and tied to the right part or product record. Machine vision can also flag missing labels, skewed or wrong orientation, poor placement, barcode and data-matrix read failures, and data that does not match the expected product or serial number. What reads reliably depends on label size and contrast, print quality, and how repeatably the label presents to the camera, so GLOBAL reviews representative good and defect samples early.
